Weddings

One of the principal avenues into Unitarian Universalism is weddings.  Plenty of engaged couples are seeking ministers and locations for their weddings and find themselves at our doors.  Because UUism is open and welcoming, we are the logical choice for many people as they sort through their options.

Located at the end of a quiet, tree-lined street, our Sanctuary is a beautiful place for a wedding.  Our building is accessible and can seat as many as 120 people.

Our minister is available on- or off-site to officiate.  Rev. Peggy Clarke can meet with engaged couples to plan a wedding that reflects the couple’s character and to design a wedding service that expresses their joy and unique story.  

Unitarian Universalists have a long history of fighting for the equal right to marry for same sex couples.  Our minister has been performing these ceremonies since 2001 and is thrilled to be doing so with the full support of the state of New York.  

Memorial Services

The desire to memorialize a loved one after death is an ancient and universal human impulse.  For families not attached to a spiritual home, death opens a box of questions about how and when and where or even whether there should be a memorial service.  Our minister is available to preside or to help you locate an available UU minister to preside at a memorial service you are considering.

Baby Dedications

When there’s a baby, there should be a party!  New life inspires new hope!  Unitarian Universalists believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person, so baptisms are not part of our custom, but we do believe in the intentional welcoming of a baby into a circle of love.  Children do not have to be born into or raised in UU homes to be dedicated here.  Baby dedications can be designed to suit the needs of the family, but generally include the passing on of gifts, the declaration of hopes and the acceptance of this new life into their community.

Pricing

Our minister officiates at all rites of passage for members without charge. For non-members, weddings are $450, which includes up to three advance meetings in addition to the 20-45 minute service.   She charges $150 for a same-day civil ceremony in her office.  Memorial services are $250 and baby dedications are $200.

Musicians are available for a variety of services.  Pricing is set based on musical requirements.
