Our Interim Minister:

Pastor Jef Gamblée

In the fall of 2009 we welcomed Reverend Jeffrey B. Gamblée to our pulpit.  He will serve for two years as our interim minister during our search for a settled minister.

Pastor Jef came to us after serving as Minister-in-Residence at Community Unitarian Church at White Plains.  Previously he served for five years as Night Chaplain at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.  He received his Masters of Divinity degree (magna cum laude) from Drew Theological Seminary in 2006 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1975.  Before entering the ministry, he had a successful career in corporate and commercial television, which included four Emmy nominations and two regional Emmy awards and an honorable mention from the New York Art Directors Club.

Pastor Jef believes in empowering the ministry of every friend and member of our congregation, which he fosters through his preaching and pastoral ministry.  He actively supports our vibrant religious education program and feels FUSW is blessed to have the services of John Cavallero as Director of Religious Education. Both leaders believe that supporting parents and their children as they seek moral and spiritual growth is a vital role of our spiritual community.

Pastor Jef and his wife, Patricia Wallendjack live in Staten Island; they have two children and one grandchild.
