Director of REligious Education
Tracy is the part-time Director of Religious Exploration (DRE) at First Unitarian Society of Westchester, and serves the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Westchester in Mt. Kisco, NY in the same capacity. In addition, she is a Good Officer for the Liberal Religious Educators Association (LREDA). Previously, she was Coordinator of Religious Education at Fourth Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Westchester in Mohegan Lake, NY, and interim DRE at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. She holds graduate degrees in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and Political Science, and is teaching faculty in the Sociology Department of John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY. Barbara Montrose was raised in Michigan with her five older brothers and sisters. She moved to Massachusetts in 1998 to attend law school. After graduating law school and practicing law for a short time, she realized that her passion was in education. She joyfully transitioned from attorney to college professor and academic administrator. After a decade in higher education, she became the Director of Capacity and Program Development at the John F. Kennedy Family Service Center, Inc., in Charlestown, Massachusetts, where she was responsible for community outreach, fundraising, and volunteer management. In 2014, she moved to New York with her husband. Upon moving to New York, she served as a substitute teacher in White Plains and Port Chester. Barbara took time off from her career for the first year of her daughter’s life. In addition to being the FUSW on-site administrator from 1:00am-5:00pm on Wednesday and Friday, she also serves as the Religious Education Coordinator at UUC Stamford, CT.
