Transition Steering Committee Minutes June 23, 2019 Meeting (held 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.)

Betsy Kates reported on the Ministerial Search Committee's interview with Viola Abbitt, a candidate for the contract minister position. The Ministerial Search Committee plans to make her an offer.
The Board has approved payment for pastoral care by credentialed professionals, who will be supervised by Arlin Roy and, potentially, also by whatever minister may be hired.
The Committee is tasked with forming the following committees: a. A pulpit/guest speakers committee — to find speakers to provide sermons for Sunday services. b. A Sunday service committe — to plan programs for Sunday services and oversee the running of them
Arlin Roy reported on planning for Restorative Practice sessions, to start in the Fall. Susan Greenberg will follow up with Evin Carvill-Ziemar about training for facilitators.
The Committee discussed the importance of a Membership Committee to reach out to new attenders to help feel connected with the Congregation. Ideally a member of the Board should be on that Committee.
Susan Greenberg reported on the status of the Stop & Shop “Scrips” program. This program brought in approximately $1200 last year. Liz Loglisci and Connie Kehoe will take this up in September.
The Committee discussed the need to plan the first regular service in the Fall (September 8, 2019) It was proposed to revive the “ingathering” service, but it would need to be planned in consultation with whatever minister is hired.
The next meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on July 7, at FUSW.
